[REL] New version of Balvery Mountains

Here is my newest version of Balvery Mountains, it now uses all 9 strata and is 100% set to play FA AI, Duncanes or Sorians makes little difference. It is a good 1vs1 map, since it is for 2 players.

I have placed it into filefront, but it is taking its time to place it up for download. I will write here when I have it in the vault.

But I suppose I can only make some players happy some of the time, and not all players all of the time.



And my old version has 3.5 also. I think some just have a dislike for my maps, and no matter how good I make them, they are not satisfied.



MagicSoul|||Try to make it a 2v2 or something some ppl hate 1v1s(i didnt vote on ur map cause i cant get on) I know i hate 1v1s|||The map is only a 5x5 map, and with the water there, it is even smaller. I could make it 5x10, by joining two of the same map together, but then I would have to do a lot of work, re-texturing, adding props and decals to the map.



Doing all that is basicly the same as creating a new map. But I will not say if I will or will not do this. At times I become bored and when that happens, I will do just about anything to not be bored.|||I have smaller maps that are 2v2 :)|||Regardless of ones love or hate for 1v1, this map deserves a higher score. It is well made. I myself play mostly 2v2 or 2v3 (AI only) on any good map of any size that allows it.



Dragonfly you are undeniably one of the more experienced and talented supcom mappers with a good eye for small details. This map is proof of that.



Could I convince you to make an asteroids map like I believe hazardx did. I love that totally different atmosphere of battling on space rocks. I'm very curious how such a map would turn out in your hands.

But don't feel pressured in any way. As long as you keep making maps for supcom I'm happy anyway.|||Dragonfly your map is gorgeous.



I had a chance to play it and it was fun. Ownership of control points is key if you want good arty sight lines :) A good map can add to the gameplay - yours does this.



And... just ignore the naysayers. Unfortunately there are some around. It does not matter what is done, they always have some grievance. Ignore them. Your work is first class. I have always enjoyed your maps. This map in particular is a work of art. Also, I loved the dual wave effect on the shoreline. I don't think I have seen it done so effectively as you did in this map.



I noticed the AI markers - thank you so much for this extra touch. It really adds to the gameplay.



I don't usually rate stuff in the vault, but I will for you!



By the way I accidentally played it with no air and noticed there did not appear to be any way for an engineer to get down to the beach. Don't know if that was your intent, but thought I would mention it.

Cheers 8)|||The water and shoreline are just a decrative feature for this map. I decided not to have the water play any part in the game on this map.



Air units use it, and they are the only ones that do. I gave no reason for the AI to go to the shoreline, so with or without air units, you won't see the AI go there. Of cause it may occure that units are dopped there, but that would be just a mistake in where the AI were placing them.



I am working on a new map, has features of two of my previous maps, but is a new design.

/Hyperion_personality hopes for more than 2 players|||It looks nice DragonFly. GJ.|||The new map will be for 4 players, it has features from Paraphet and Central Mound. The map 10x10 and all the AI markers are already on it, but it is nothing more than sand. I needed to test it before I go any further, and the test with Sorians AI worked without any problems.

Note there is no way to copy and paste these two maps. 5x5 and 10x10 are there sizes.|||Dragon_Fly, this map is amazing but you used Aeon walls to surround the UEF settlements instead of UEF walls.

unless you already have. Looking at screenshots, can lead you to think a map is not good, because not all things come out in them.
