I want to know if someone with some map expertise would mind pulling out the campaign maps and adding 7 friendly spawn points to the original first player spawn point and just saving them, either to the vault or other wise.
After seeing Survival campaign, it seems like it should be possible.
Doesn't have to continue on to next mission or anything. just each map would be playable per separate game would be cool.|||Its quiet possible, actually Dragon Fly and I have already done that for one map (2nd campaign map). The trouble is that some of the maps are hard too balance and there are some problems with the civilian units. I shelved the project (to much other stuff to do) but now would be a good time to take another look at the maps.
We could include them for the CEP. Would you be willing to help out as tester and balancer typo?

It seems to be possable as proven in the Survival Campaign map. all i would like is the map in the MP list and several spawn points near the Player 1 starting spot..
it would be fun to take new players to the game threw in a sort of coop-op mode.
clearly very easy to beat even with 1 person, just something to pass the time with a friend is all.|||Oh sorry, I thought you wanted just the maps for normal multiplayer. (I was in a hurry, sorry. Jessep: what happens to the mission objectives and events in that map? Having some multiplayer maps from the campaign could be a good addition to CEP, and they definitely don't need to run as a campaign, just single maps. typo91 do you agree?
To make things more interesting we could make the maps 2x2, where 2 starting positions (preferably given to AI players) are allied with existing AI campaign units... I never was much of a map MAKER but I did review for TAMEC for about a year and a half in a galaxy far far away, so I think I know what to look for in maps a bit.|||BOTA:99|||I hope you all know what i am talking about when i say the "survival Campaign map" that is on the vault.
That seems to show its possible to make maps with mission objectives for players.
You sparked an intresting idea there in your pvp campaign type missions.
It should be possable to pit 1 team agains an another team in a campaign style mission. implementing it would be tricky
The team normally controlled by AI with premade bases and economy would be on a no rush timer, while the other player team would have unlimited space in there no rush circle (or very very large) the team controlling the AI normally AI team would also be restricted from building any eco structures, additional factorys, and engineers.
Remember the goal of all this is still for the player team to win. but it would be fun to play, new people could play with older people without getting slaughtered right away.
or older people could still teach newer people the game without having to throw them in a 2v2 situation.
Basically Surivival Campaign is already a ready made multiplayer campaign map. But something just like that only without 4 jobs for 4 players, but more 1 job for 4 players, 1 set of mex points to share. Give them something to do together.
Just imaging something like the 2nd mission in FA, where 4 of you spawn together and fight and army off the Friendly AI with your ACUs, and build a base from nothing to beat the campaign.
Almost all of the missions currently in FA now, would be in fact HARDER with 4 players spawning ACUs as by having to share the Eco, (number of mexs still the same) they would be challenged to work together to still beat the mission without dieing.
and the missions it would make easyer could just have some extra units or something added to the spawn list. some missions like the one with Brackman in it, could be fun, as fletcher could be another player, that has to wait till being spawned to play.|||This is such a good idea, i'm dumbfounded to why noone has done it yet. Maybe the editor just isn't friendly enough. I've use valves map editor with ease, but the supcom one, if you can find it, i can't figure out.
