Been awhile since I posted here,
I had a craving to play with the editor again after seeing Duncans update with his naval work in his ai mod. Unfortunatley I am unable to play the game as my computer is Foocked, My current video card is to weak to play the maps I made but I am able to play with the editor. So I reattempted to do the map Frostbite from my earlier post of it somewhere in this forum if one cares to search for it. I made the map smaller to get around the issues I had. Now I have another issue The maps decals fade in and out when I attempt to view it in game so I decided I would upload it to see if someone willing to test it with a top end video card has the same issues. I hope not
Also I am reuping my other map I am fond of ( a bit of pride ) Devils Landings as I see my old filefront link is dead.
FrostBite :

Devils Landings :
Link : same as above|||The fading of decals is nothing new. I had the problem before, and had to scrap my map idea. The problem lies in how many of the same decals are used, or just having too many decals on the map. Sorry to say the game and the editor, just don't support the number of decals, you have on the map.
Dragon Fly |||I haven't played your Frost Bite map yet, too little time. But I found some download locations for your maps that you probably don't know off:
Frost Bite Beta

Devils Landings

This is an awesome map
If you mean by fading decals that they disappear and reappear by zooming in and out? than yes, I have the same issue and it made me stop making maps for SupCom FA. I don't care about decals disappearing when looking around with the free cam. I just can't make the maps look the way I want them to look because of the limitations that are present. Let's hope SupCom 2 will come with a much better Editor and engine for our creativity.|||Ahh I forgot about those links , Thks Paceydre.
I'll Keep adding to this list if Sup 2 comes with a decent map editor, Altho I am worried about that after seeing how they went about demigod.
It's all about selling DLC with games nowadays and I get a feeling the days of the editors are dissapearing.
Thats a bummer about the decals Dragon Fly, altho the map Devils Landings has way way more decals in it then the Frost Bite map, and it does not have the same fading issues. I thought it was a video card limitation. I am starting to believe this decal set just blows, I will try to save my time and effort in sculpting the map by trying another theme.
thks for the replys.|||Hungaboo it's time you bought yourself a new PC, think of the children! (Or is it still one kid, can't remember!)
Devils Landings is one of my top 5 maps, it's a beauty to look at. Frostbite was looking great too until your PC couldn't handle it anymore.
I agree, the days of the editors are dissapearing. My early attempts at editing eventually played a part in what I do for a career now, so shame to see their demise.
See you in the SC2 mapping forums! |||Thats the problem I had a girl and the wife is stearing her towards riding horses not glorious rts battles against dad down in the man cave in the basement :) maybe #2 will be a boy. Altho I am not complaining about the little sweetheart I have been gifted with.
A new video card is in the works, but our holiday costs are still on the visa and must be dealt with first. Ahhh the days of being a bachelour, I never even hesitated to go out and buy what was needed.....
career ? care to elaborate, sounds interesting.|||Wish I could have a basement, my girlfriend won't even look for a house with a separate man room, I'll be stuck with this pc in the living room soon
Hope your computer can handle a new graphics card, suggest building brand new PC for the kid's benefit ... Yes, you heard me.
See you on the mapping battlefield
