[REL][SC2] Surface Tension

So thanks to my buddy Theshadowlord and his help, I've put together the first of my Supcom 2 campaign-conversion maps!

This map's a 4v4, designed to be quick and dirty, with every player in constant danger of being shelled from the shore by either Illuminate tanks or another faction's navy.
Before you say: "But Illuminate is so strong on this map because of hover tanks!"
I know. I knew they were going to be from the beginning when creating this map, and each side is usually going to want at least one illuminate spamming tanks across the water to keep the other side's illuminate off their team's back. Navy isn't totally useless, it's just used as more of a supporting role between the dueling illuminate players, and don't forget air can be just as hurtful to those tank blobs.
Try the map; you may be surprised by how many strategies are actually valid, unlike on Setons which only has a few "serious" strategies for each player.

EVERY PLAYER MUST HAVE THE MAP INSTALLED CORRECTLY IN ORDER TO PLAY A MULTIPLAYER GAME.
Installation Instructions and Spawnpoint Help:
- Place the file in your steam\steamapps\common\supreme commander 2\gamedata directory.
- It will appear as a second copy of Setons Clutch in your map list, this is normal and cannot be fixed.
- The spawn points will appear to be arranged just like Setons Clutch. However, they do not correspond to the actual starting points.

These pictures show how the starting points on the preview map correspond to the starting points on the actual map. An easy rule-of-thumb to rember is that the front man on setons will be the leftmost (person closest to the land bridge) player on their respective side. The rest of the players will be lined up from left to right in the remaining 3 slots as they appear to be line up in the preview (AKA the rightmost player of a team in the preview will be at the rightmost spot in the map on their team's side, the next to the left at the next to left spot, and so on).|||woohoo! Trying it out now. Keep up the great work on campaign map conversions. THere are some great maps in the campaigns.

problems before start:
1 the game is called as setons clutch

when game starts these are the problems i saw:
1 cant move acu/engineers.
2 takes a long time to start, but thats no problem, 3 doesn't zoom in when starts.
4 mass points aren't probably lighted.
5you can't chat with other players, you see only youre own chat.
this is only when not evry1 downloaded map?

optimus prime|||i just see the game works for skirmisch,but not online|||optimus that is a desynced game
all players need the map locally ( on hard disk ) to work|||1. All Players require this map installed to play.
2. If you cant move it is probalbly due to you having a rush timer and this map does not support that at the moment.
3. You cant expect everything to work properly im just glad i have a new map to play.
4. Did not have the chat issue when i played with my friend.
5. Zooming in at the start huh who cares?
6. The game name cant be changed at the moment live with it.
If u cant get the map to work make sure u have it in both locations please see below.

C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander 2|||Optimus, you must make sure that EVERY PLAYER has the map, and has it installed correctly. A similar situation happened in testing when someone didn't install their map correctly.
The game will be listed as Setons Clutch, I can't change that. It's just how it has to be since true map making/modding has been disabled.|||When playing ai and they have postions 5/6/7/8 if the computer in postion 8 is UEF and sends AC1000 at you they get stuck well they just stop moving and sit there just infront over the water from postion 8. Apart from that just the usual ai being silly it all seems cool. Me and my friends played a 4vs4 us vs ai was very good fun. Cheers for a new map and if there is any posiblity in a larger map next time that would be great but i understand how limited you are.|||Lovin' it Destro.
This map at the moment I think is a friend only type thing, because if someone does not have it installed, the only way you get to find out is that the game doesn't load properly after launching. The best way to avoid this is to make sure that you ask everyone in the room if they see the new map overlay where you pick player spots. If it appears as any map but the new map (a blue and grey map with eight choosable player slots), they do not have the file in the proper directory.
Yes, there are problems with the user interface in the lobby (name of map should be Surface Tension, player slots arranged like Seton's), but these are not to the fault of Destro, and as he said they are not fixable. Please GPG do something about this!
It is nice to have a new map. The hard work is appreciated. Not to mention it is quite fun to play; very chaotic, quick games with very little downtime, where it seems like just about anything can happen.
Expect to see a lot of Aeon on this map.
More please! Even just adding/rearranging mexes to existing multiplayer maps; 4v4 Sinorok Rift Armoury anyone? Powderhorn Mesa with the start locations moved to the outsides of the map? 3v3/FFA Open Palms with the spawns and metal spaced further along the outside edge so we aren't starting a 20 second walk away from the enemy? 8-way FFA on Emerald Crater? Change Mirror Island to be East vs West? Turn one of the larger 1v1 maps into a 2v2? Even something like this is enough to add variety to the game. GPG should even consider doing this. Sure they won't be 'new maps' but they will be brand new ways to play old maps. Minimal investment on their part for a huge return to the fans.

The DLC broke the console mod I've been using to help create the maps, and I simply cannot make them in a reasonable amount of time without it. I can't even find the thread for it anymore so I have no idea if it's updated or not. Until it is, I'm not going to be able to release any more conversions.|||Since Machater seems to have created an identical mod (save formations), I'm not updating my mod any more, so I would recommend you have a look at this and use it. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=46309
