I want to enable the Campaign objectives' UI display in skirmish maps.
I've looked a good time inside gpg's scripts but was unlucky.
Anyone helping?
edit: nvm, it is actually quite easy.
All you need to do is put
ScenarioInfo.CampaignMode = true
Sync.CampaignMode = true
import('/lua/sim/simuistate.lua').IsCampaign(true)
into your map scripts' OnPopulate function.
You obviously do need to have objectives set up and all that though.
Now all that remains is figuring out how to also enable the score display.
I'm thinking highscores, saving to prefs.|||Very nice... I just started a mission map but hadn't yet looked into how to get the objectives showing... perfect timing! The only problem I see with this is that the Diplomacy options are disabled, which is a showstopper for me. I'll need to take a further look into why. Have you made any progress with the scoring? I've done a lot of searching through the forums and lua files and don't believe this would be possible... looks like we either get scores or objectives. Kinda like getting scores or being civilian.|||there's not much preventing one from just building a stand alone score display.
diplomacy in a mission map, don't see the point, at most I'd want to kick idiots out of a multi-player mission, turning on allies would be such an example where to do that.|||Diplomacy allows for swapping engineers|||and for resource sharing, yeah my bad, crap.
oh well, it is still possible to do, but requires some ui side file hooking, from what I can tell.
regarding engineer sharing, one could just spawn all T1 engineers on gamestart, usually a bit less trouble than asking everyone for one.|||In testing my map (using objectives) I'm pretty sure the overflow aspect of resource sharing still functions for allies. Spawning an engy of each type is a great idea... think I'll use it. This makes objectives a go for me! Sure makes mission maps prettier. Thanks again, Ghaleon.|||You're welcome thwagmostar, am looking forward to your next releases :)
I found it more cumbersome to ask for engineers than building a templated mex with storages, so I was quite happy to have had that option in my Blackbox series of maps.
I hope for real Campaigns, well thought out and paced to offer some diversity to the TvB or Defend from all sides of most Survival games, save for Survival Escape and some others.
I however have not yet tested enabled campaign options with multiple players, ie on GPGnet, does this work as intended?|||My next map is at the point where it's mostly tuning, but haven't had much time to work on it. Inital tests seem to work without issue for using this in multiplayer.|||pretty cool, thanks for confirming it, and i look forward to your next map, tbh i'm sick of the extreme desert map layout, so there's not much fun for me to be had in it.|||You can have one with shields alongside KIS, but that should be it.
